Children and Families

Worship

Each Sunday families are welcome to join in our worship. Some of the children help us in our worship by playing music, reading, singing and leading prayers. Once a month our service is an all age worship service.

For the rest of the month the children and the young people are invited to join the Sunday School. For younger children we have a lively crèche in the room at the front of the church called 'The Haven', for children aged 3-6 years old there are also 'Godly Play' sessions in the chapel.

Red Hen Coffee Morning

The Red Hen Project holds coffee mornings in the church hall every Monday during term time. The group has parents and preschool children from the local community, generally with children attending the primary schools who are supported by the project. They are Arbury, The Grove, King’s Hedges, Orchard Park and Shirley. The sessions are friendly and relaxed and offer play activities for the children, peer support from other parents and advice from the family workers as well as a cooked breakfast of bacon sandwiches, fresh fruit and bread and butter.

Holiday Lunches

During the school holidays we seek to provide a free lunch and activities for families in the community. For further details see the events page or community action.

Uniformed Organisations

We have groups of Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Brownies and Rainbows who meet each week in the Church Hall and join us at 10 o’clock on Sundays once a term for a Parade Service.

Schools

The members of the church regularly participate in the life of the local schools, taking monthly assemblies and teaching RE. The schools also come to visit the church to explore a Christian place of worship in their community.
